Cheap flights on Latam Airlines

LAN Airlines (formerly LanChile) is the primary commercial carrier of Chile based in Santiago. It was founded by Chilean Army Air Services Commander Arturo Merino Benitez (Santiago's international airport is named after him), and began operations on March 1929 as Línea Aeropostal Santiago-Arica. It changed its name to LAN Chile in 1932. As of March 2004 LAN Chile and its subsidiaries LAN Peru, LAN Ecuador, LAN Chile Cargo, LAN Express, ABSA (Aerolinhas Brasileiras), LAN Argentina, MAS Air, Florida West International Airways (FWIA), and LAN Dominicana unified under the single LAN brand. LAN stands for Líneas Aéreas Nacionales which interprets simply to National Airlines. On 17 June 2004 LAN Chile changed its formal name to LAN Airlines as part of this re branding process.

LAN operates flights to Latin America, North America, Oceania, and Europe frequenting cities such as Frankfurt, Madrid, Cancún, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Havana, Punta Cana, Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Rosario, La Paz, Salvador, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Arica, Balmaceda, Calama, Copiapo, Easter Island, Hanga Roa, Iquique, Puerto Montt, Punta Arenas, Santiago, Colombia, Bogotá, Guayaquil, Quito, Falkland Islands, RAF Mount Pleasant, Lima, Montevideo, Caracas, Sydney, Papeete and Auckland.

oneworld Alliance

As part of the oneworld (One World) alliance, when you fly with LAN Airlines and other airlines in the network, you are collecting frequent flyer points that can be redeemed for flights, accommodation and other travel related benefits.

The oneworld alliance is a major programme with a flight network including Aer Lingus, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, LAN and Qantas. This is continually developing, with new airlines coming on board. Very good news for those travellers on code share flights, who are still able to collect points from affiliated partner airlines.

LANPASS is the frequent flyer program of LAN Airlines. There are over 1 million current members in Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru and the U.S. There are 3 tiers to LANPASS beginning with Premium Membership, followed by Premium Silver Membership and finally Comodoro (or Commodore) Member. As miles accumulate, the greater the benefits. Benefits such as class upgrade coupons, bonus kilometres, exclusive check-in and boarding, free trips with LAN or any of its affiliates, exclusive member discounts as well as a host of other benefits to enhance the travelling experience. Over 50,000 members of LANPASS receive free flights and other benefits ever year.

VIP Lounge

Another benefit of LANPASS membership is access to the VIP Lounge Neruda, Santiago and Chile Modern. As well as access to over 250 other airport lounges around the world through oneworld. In stylishly decorated interiors offering comfort and convenience, VIP Lounges have been designed to provide First Class and Business Class passengers an exclusive sanctuary for rest or work.
